See below for a message from our colleagues at the Internet Society — the First Mile Connectivity Consortium is a partner in this upcoming event:
If you plan to attend the Indigenous Connectivity Summit but haven’t registered yet, please do so today!
We’ve got a great line up of speakers from across Canada, the U.S. and around the world to talk about their experiences with deploying community networks. Experts will be on-hand to answer your questions about policy, spectrum, Indigenous culture in a digital world, and many other topics. With plenty of opportunities to network, share your stories and learn from each other, the Indigenous Connectivity Summit is an event you won’t want to miss. And, we’ve just welcomed a new partner with the Summit – the First Mile Connectivity Consortium (http://firstmile.ca)!
The ICS is an initiative of the Internet Society, the Internet Society New Mexico Chapter, 1st-Mile Institute, the First Mile Connectivity Consortium, and the Community Learning Network. This important event will focus on Indigenous community networking throughout in Canada and the U.S. In this community-led forum, we will showcase success stories to help find solutions to close digital divides. We will also explore issues related to community development, sustainability, cultural preservation in a two-day series of panels, presentations, story-telling, and discussions.
